Arbitrarily automatically scrolls back to the top of the page every so often while reading Likely an amateur error in refreshing ads or content An example of apps gone bad This should be a Web page or a Web app not a standalone singlepurpose custom onesite Web browser     Buggy and Unnecessary

This app breaks the NewsHour up into segments so I can quickly catch up on what Im most interested in Excellent                 Great for quick news

I love the newshour so it really pains me to leave a poor review This app is in dire need of an update it is not compatible with iPhone 5 or even a retina display which has been around since 2010 The user experience does not do justice to the sterling content 5 stars for the content one for the app Please fix I love you guys        Please update

I can understand why the app might not play in the background harder to program and somewhat locked down by Apple but Why cant I lock my screen and listen If screen is locked and dark playback is audio is stopped even for podcast downloads This is bad for battery life as well as security screen on all the time takes down my battery plus I cant put it in my pocket cause the controls are live Lastly the Play button is ludicrously small especially for the News Hours demographic Love the news hour but hate all the current implementations of podcasts sorry Hoping for improvements soon           Cant play while screen locked

I find this app to be very difficult to use The articles are constantly autorefreshing and bringing me back to the top which then causes me to repeatedly have to scroll back down to where I was Changing the orientation of the screen causes this as well There is usually a lot of extra space between top images and the transcript which is usually what I look for so I end up having to scroll a lot just to begin Honestly I hardly ever use this app because I find it to be so frustrating I read the news provided by the AP and NPR apps regularly on the other hand maybe you can get some ideas from their formatting I have young children and find it easier to get news quietly on my mobile device when I have a moment rather than tuning in and running the risk of exposing my children to unsettling stories Id appreciate it if you could release an update that addresses the technical issues I mentioned Thank you        Great program but terrible App

Good articles but I just want to listen to them Tried three links all were bad iPhone 5 Also would like to listen to the whole Newshour without having to select one article at a time Cannot figure out how to do the whole Newshour        Listen to the audio links are bad

Agree with critics that the app makes it cumbersome to just sit and watch the entire show Even worse once youve watched a video clip its not easy to get back to the app to find the next clip Very painful Would hope for a little more ingenuity for the Jim Lehrer posse When is reasonable to expect version 112     Cumbersome

Difficult to scroll down column with iOS 8 Tried to download an article but app froze and would not even let me go back Hardly ever use it now        Hard to use

A couple of weeks ago the print stories stopped being available I receive the videosmaybe this is because I have an older Ipod without OS7 I like being able to read the transcripts also I have reinstalled no change           Help

The live broadcast feature is way too frustrating because it buffers andor crashes constantly even at home with WiFi It would be better if the live broadcast was audio only That would be better than video that doesnt steam well           Live Broadcast Frustrations

This is clearly not a significant outlet for them Too bad the show is the best and this would be a wonderfully convenient way to keep up     No update in 5 years

I love the News Hour and rarely a day passes by that I dont watch it But Ive finally given up and am deleting this app It has an incredibly unpolished look and lacks sophistication It is not user friendly and crashes all the time I was hoping to be able to use it for breaking news in addition to reading about what I missed on the program but no such luck It breaks my heart to give any thing PBSrelated a bad review but I know you can do better Please fix it     Please fix the app out of respect to the TV program

Why not bypass this app and its inferior browser and simply go to the website directly using Chrome     FAIL weblinks collection

Every time I touch on a link itll take you there and freeze Needs some fixing        Everybody do the freeze

It hasnt crashed on me once and I read this daily              It works on my old iPhone 3

App locks up my phone at times but always freezes phone when I try to share an article           Good articles but cannot share them

Deleting the app Wheres the content Wanted to find out about the latest news in the Middle East All I found was a 2 paragraph news story Not informative all and shocking coming from Newshour This app is a joke compared to the real thing Hope it gets better        Pretty disappointed

I enjoy getting my news from this but one annoying thing is that the news article keeps going back to the top while I am reading it Then I have to go find where I was I think app is trying to refresh the data when this happens           Few problems

What is the problem with people responsible from fixing this app 910 times I have to go to YouTube to see the videos If thats the case whats the point to having this app This app has serious technical issues and they have been going on for many many months Do something     The videos rarely work

Articles snap back to start suddenly and usually lose ability to get back to the menu of articles Also an app for the iPad is needed so one does not have to increase size to read on their iPad        Hard to use

The latest version of this app doesnt work at all The inline videos never load although they didnt in the previous version anyway However now the option to send it to YouTube does not work The app just hangs     Totally nonfunctional

This might just be the worst and most poorly designed news app in the history of the world Absolutely worthless It is constantly trying to refresh locks and freezes only shows part of the article and the list goes on and on Somebody needs to be FIRED     Worst News App Ever

A lot of glitches for IOS 8 on an iPhone 6plus The videos do not want to play and when you try to go back to the news feed he app crashes PBS should hold their app to a high standard as they do their news        Glitches for IOS 8

This is an app review Not a content review which is great Its unconscionable that this fairly simple bug which impairs the apps usability be left unrepaired As others have mentioned buggy video feature Choices select and play fine but one cant return to the program to view other clips Hangs up on page redirect requiring closing the app and restarting it 5 stars if fixed     Bugs still not fixed

I dont understand why you would released this app with no capacity to play the full one hour episode        No full 1 hr episode

All I want is the PBS newshour Instead I get multiple stories split up into print articles Just give me a button to listen the hour     Wheres the beef

Half way through a news story the app quickly scrolls to the top of the story for no reason It happens frequently and is very frustrating I have to scroll back to the point I was reading and then a short time later it will do it again PLEASE FIX THIS It is very frustrating     What is wrong with this app

Dont get me wrong folks I absolutely love PBS Now and again I support my local public radio I admire Jim Lehrer Gwen Ifill I was so excited to find that these guys had an app Now imagine my frustration This app hasnt been updated in agesprobably around iOS 4 It looks outdated and has a lot f quirks Please update the app I along with all other listeners and viewers would be so grateful Love PBS     The app is crap

I downloaded this app for one simple reason to listen to get this a daily news program called PBS News Hour on my iPhone So where is it guys You went to all this trouble to make an app with fancy graphics links podcasts etc but you didnt include access to PBS NEWSHOUR     Everything but PBS News Hour

Last August I see someone said the app was for iPhone only not iPad too Still not updated Its pretty bad on the iPad so will probably delete get my news elsewhere watch TV Im traveling in Spain now so it would be nice if the iPad app was up and running What gives after so long        PBS Newshour

Clicking the share icon causes it too freeze Needs to be fixed to be worthy of the News Hour        Crashes when you share

I feel like this app deserves less than three stars but out of respect for PBS newshour I couldnt bring myself to rate it any lower This app has many issues PBS if you ever read this FIX YOUR APP This would be an awesome medium to receive news on a mobil platform but it almost has too many bugs to make it worth it I would love to use this app as my main source of news though it crashes on such a frequent basis that I can hardly stand to open the app anymore Please do your program the huge favor of fixing this app I guarantee that your daily audience would increase exponentially           Fix This App

This app needs update to take advantage of the full screen in newer phones           Large screen for 5S

There are so many articles I want to read that just sit there and spin They never load theres a black page or a white page thats it Even when it does load if theres a video it just sits there and spends like its loading and loading and loading and never plays Im in the Apple iPhone 5s Please fix this Id love to use the app but for now Im deleting it A waste of my time        Horrible

Easy to get lost and no way to get back mainly so far when utube video is employed The fact of no ads or commercials is worth a lot hope it gets some refining updates              Great content thank you but issues
